About Me October 26, 2010

The environment, science and health are the main subjects that interest me as a freelance journalist. Based in Whitehorse, I am keeping my eyes open for what’s going on near to me as well as around the world. This blog page is an online portfolio for my writing.

Me on the job at the farm animal rescue organization called R.A.S.T.A., located east of Okotoks, Alberta.

I am the editor of What’s Up Yukon, a weekly newspaper that focusses on arts, culture and lifestyle in the Yukon Territory. I also write freelance.

Prior to my move to the Yukon I spent three years as a full-time environment, municipal affairs, First Nations issues, and arts reporter for the Okotoks Western Wheel.

Before writing for the Okotoks Western Wheel, I did a four-month internship in Costa Rica at The Tico Times. There I conducted interviews for stories in Spanish and wrote in English for the expatriate community. I landed that internship after publishing an online  magazine in Vancouver for five years, called Ripe Magazine.
